A 37-year-old Bath man was arrested last week after police say he was caught with methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in a public park.
According to the Village of Bath Police Department, a 911 caller reported seeing a man possibly smoking drugs in Pulteney Square Park around 6:30 p.m. on August 8.
Police responded to the park and located James F. Blankenship, who matched the caller’s description. During the investigation, officers say Blankenship was found with a quantity of methamphetamine and a burnt glass smoking device, often used for meth use.
Blankenship was arrested and taken to Bath PD for processing. He is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree, a Class A misdemeanor.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.
