LATEST UPDATE: Motorcyclist seriously injured in Gorham crash

A Naples man is in serious condition after a crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV Monday afternoon in the town of Gorham.

Deputies say 27-year-old Cain Wright was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle north on State Route 247 around 2:30 p.m. when a Honda HRV, driven by 59-year-old Roger Loucks of Branchport, pulled into his path from County Road 18.

Wright was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital with serious internal and orthopedic injuries. He underwent emergency surgery and remains in the Trauma ICU.

Loucks and two passengers in the SUV were evaluated at the scene and were not injured.

Emergency crews from Stanley Hall Gorham Ambulance, Hopewell Fire Department, Stanley Fire Department, and Gorham Fire Department assisted at the crash site. Parts of Route 247 and County Road 18 were closed for several hours during the investigation.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
