The New York State Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing later this month to discuss plans for replacing the Route 364 bridge over the West River in Middlesex.
The hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 18, at 7 p.m. at the Middlesex Town Hall, 1216 NY-245. An informal open house with NYSDOT representatives will begin at 6 p.m., giving attendees a chance to ask questions and review the proposal ahead of the formal session.
The bridge, located between Lincoln Avenue and Church Street, is slated for replacement in spring 2028. At the hearing, NYSDOT will share its preferred alternative and outline proposed changes to the highway right-of-way, including property acquisitions under the state’s Eminent Domain Procedure Law.
Residents, local business owners, and elected officials are invited to attend and provide comments. Those who cannot attend may submit written feedback to NYSDOT Highway Design Engineer Elizabeth Clark at 107 Broadway, Hornell, NY 14843. Comments must be submitted by September 15 to be part of the official record.
