Cornell appoints Kyle Kimball as VP for relations

Cornell University has named Kyle Kimball its next vice president for university relations, according to the Cornell Chronicle. His appointment, effective Sept. 15, was approved by the Board of Trustees and marks a key leadership move in managing the university’s communications and government relations.

Kimball currently serves as NYU’s VP of government relations and has a background spanning public policy, utility leadership, and economic development—including work on Cornell Tech. He succeeds Joel Malina, with Monica Yant Kinney having served in the interim role.

In his new post, Kimball will oversee multiple offices, including strategic communications and federal affairs. A Harvard and Stanford graduate, Kimball plans to relocate to Ithaca with his husband and daughter, aiming to embed in the local community.
