Art enthusiasts will have an opportunity to enhance their skills when Artworks Gallery hosts a Colored Pencil Still Life Drawing Workshop with instructor Roberta Nelson on Saturday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The workshop will take place at the gallery, located at 109 Fall Street in downtown Seneca Falls.
Nelson’s workshop will guide participants through various colored pencil blending techniques, including linear strokes, overlaying colors, scumbling, impressing, glazing, burnishing, and using colorless blending pencils. The session will also cover methods for removing wax build-up and finishing techniques to refine artwork.
Participants are asked to bring their own drawing supplies, including a drawing pad or paper, a regular pencil, a set of colored pencils (with white, grey, and black Prismacolor recommended), an eraser, and a colorless blending pencil. The instructor will provide informational packets and inspirational images.
The cost of the workshop is $40, with registration required by August 9. Interested individuals can register by emailing rnelson33@rochester.rr.com.
