Woman charged after $6,000 theft from Junius business

A Seneca Falls woman faces a felony charge after authorities say she stole thousands of dollars from her employer in the Town of Junius.

Elizabeth A. Prentice, 44, of Ridge Road, was arrested on July 31 by Seneca County Sheriff’s Investigators. She was charged with grand larceny in the third degree following an incident that allegedly occurred in December.

According to Sheriff Timothy Thompson, the investigation revealed that Prentice stole more than $6,000 from a business in Junius where she had been employed. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Junius Town Court on August 21 to answer the charge.

The Sheriff’s Office published the announcement on its official website.
