Geneva Half Marathon to impact roads August 10

Residents across Geneva should expect road disruptions the morning of August 10 as the city hosts the YellowJacket Racing & Fleet Feet Geneva Half Marathon and Relay.

The 13.1-mile race begins at 7:30 a.m. at the NYS Finger Lakes Welcome Center and will affect several major roads through 11 a.m., including South Main Street, White Springs Drive, Pre Emption Road, and Slate Rock Road.

The relay exchange zone will be on Slate Rock Road near Wilson Creek, between Snell and Billsboro roads. The Geneva Police Department urged drivers to use caution and watch for runners throughout the event.

Residents along the route are encouraged to cheer from their yards, offer water stations, or set up sprinklers to help runners cool off. A full map of the course is available at genevahalfmarathon.com/course-map.
