Firefighters in Ontario County quickly extinguished a car fire Tuesday that threatened to spread to a nearby vehicle, thanks to fast action by first responders.
According to the Bristol Volunteer Fire Department, crews from both Bristol and the Cheshire Fire Department were dispatched to the scene after reports of a vehicle fire. A deputy from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office was first to arrive and confirmed one car was fully engulfed, with flames beginning to affect a second.
Firefighters arrived promptly and were able to knock down the flames before they could cause further damage. The fire was contained to the original vehicle, and no injuries were reported.
“Great job by all departments,” the Bristol Fire Department stated in a post, recognizing the swift response of its own team, the Cheshire Fire Department, the sheriff’s office, and Canandaigua Ambulance.
The cause of the fire was not immediately released.
