Ontario County Deputies have arrested a Canandaigua man accused of stealing a cellphone from a shopper’s cart at a Walmart.
Deputies took 29-year-old Samuel E. Vazquez into custody on July 19 around 4:00 PM on Phelps Street in Canandaigua. The arrest followed a larceny investigation that began on July 14 at the Walmart in the Town of Hopewell.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Vazquez is accused of removing a cellphone from a victim’s shopping cart. He was charged with petit larceny and issued an appearance ticket.
Vazquez is scheduled to appear in Hopewell Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
