Hobart and William Smith Colleges have acquired the Geneva Gardens apartments to expand housing options for students, according to the Finger Lakes Times. The 53-unit property sits between the main campus and the arts facilities and will be renovated to accommodate over 100 students by fall 2026.
The current owner, a parent of an HWS alum, will oversee the property through a transitional year and assist tenants in relocating. Some apartments will be used as temporary housing for faculty and staff.
HWS says the site will remain on city tax rolls, preserving revenue for Geneva.
