A new lawsuit aims to uncover internal messages sent by Emil Bove, a top Justice Department official and Seneca Falls native, as scrutiny mounts ahead of his judicial confirmation, according to The Hill.
American Oversight filed the case to enforce a series of unanswered public records requests. The group seeks emails tied to Bove’s alleged ethical lapses, including a controversial remark about defying court orders on deportation cases. He’s also linked to the dismissal of Jan. 6 prosecutors and interference in the Eric Adams probe.
The watchdog also wants records of Bove’s communications with Elon Musk, Stephen Miller, and others. Once a defense lawyer for Donald Trump, Bove now awaits a Senate vote on his nomination to the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
