The Penn Yan Theatre Co. has landed multiple grants to fund its summer youth program, ensuring continued free access to local theater, according to the Finger Lakes Times. With three awards already secured and a fourth pending, the funding will cover most of the production costs for this year’s show, “Seussical Jr.”
Grants from the Keuka Area Fund, Yates County Youth Bureau, and Rochester Area Community Foundation will support counselor stipends, show royalties, materials, and meals for students during extended program hours.
The three-week program begins Monday at Penn Yan Middle School, with performances scheduled for July 24–26.
