Thousands of kids’ bike helmets recalled over safety risk

Bell Sports has recalled over 31,000 children’s bike helmets sold at major retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and Target, citing concerns they may not meet federal safety standards, according to WETM. The helmets could fail to absorb impact during crashes, posing serious injury risks.

The recalled models include popular designs such as Axle, Cadence, Rev, Frenzy, and Passage, sold between September 2024 and May 2025. Consumers should stop using them immediately and can request a refund by cutting the straps and submitting a photo to Bell Sports.

No injuries have been reported, but the company is contacting known buyers and offering support via its recall hotline.
