The 27-foot powerboat capsized near D.L. Bliss State Park on June 21 during a storm with 8-foot waves. Six bodies were recovered that day, with the final two found over the next two days. Two people survived and were hospitalized, but details remain limited.

Officials haven’t disclosed if life jackets were worn. The lake’s frigid 58-degree waters, known to induce hypothermia quickly, likely contributed to the fatalities. Authorities continue investigating what led to the tragedy.
