The City of Ithaca has launched a public call for project proposals as part of its application for Round 9 of New York State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI), which could bring $10 million in funding to support transformative projects in the city’s core.
If awarded, the funds would be directed toward capital investments that promote economic development, infrastructure upgrades, recreation, cultural enrichment, and the revitalization of natural and historic resources in downtown Ithaca.
“We are excited to open this DRI call for projects,” said Mayor Robert Cantelmo. “These funds would go towards projects that transform the physical environment of downtown and will benefit the quality of life and downtown experience of our residents, visitors, and future generations.”
The DRI Steering Committee is encouraging organizations, businesses, and other entities with plans for capital improvements within or just outside the designated DRI boundary to submit proposals. All applications must be received by Monday, July 14 at 5:00 p.m.
Project proposals will be evaluated for alignment with the goals of the DRI program and Ithaca’s downtown vision. Public input will be sought during the evaluation process before final projects are selected for inclusion in the city’s official DRI application.
Interested applicants are urged to contact Emma Recckio or Thomas Knipe with the City of Ithaca for guidance on proposal development.
