A transient man was arrested late Saturday night in the Town of Sterling for violating a court-issued order of protection, according to the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a domestic incident at Sterling Pines Trailer Park around 10:28 p.m. on June 21, 2025. During the investigation, they determined that Jody Labelle, 36, had violated a Full Stay Away Order of Protection.
Labelle had previously been convicted of violating the same order and was on probation at the time of the incident. As a result, he was charged with:
- Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree (Class A misdemeanor)
- Aggravated Family Offense (Class E felony)
He was taken into custody, processed, and held for CAP Court, where he was remanded without bail.
