Livingston County appoints first-ever compliance officer

Livingston County has appointed Christine Studioso as its first compliance officer, marking a significant step in strengthening regulatory oversight across local government.

The Board of Supervisors announced Studioso’s appointment Monday. In her new role, she will lead the County’s efforts to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local mandates. She begins the position immediately.

Studioso brings more than 13 years of compliance experience, having served most recently as senior manager for corporate compliance at Navient. There, she supported several subsidiaries, including Pioneer Credit Recovery and Xtend Healthcare, by tracking legislation, managing regulatory adherence, and overseeing training programs. Her responsibilities covered laws such as HIPAA, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and CMS regulations.

“We are thrilled to welcome Christine to the County as our new compliance officer,” said County Administrator David Pribulka. “Having Christine at the helm to guide our many compliance initiatives will allow departments to focus more on their core mission delivery while also ensuring our commitment to the highest professional standards of good government.”

Studioso will oversee implementation of Livingston County’s Compliance Plan, chair both compliance and safety committees, and guide regulatory policy. She will also educate and update the County’s Compliance Committee on changes in statutes and regulations.

“I really want to help foster a workforce and community that knows compliance impacts everyone,” Studioso said. “The language provided in these rules and regulations is not always easy to understand, and I would love to help simplify, streamline and tailor the dissemination of compliance information.”

She emphasized a hands-on approach to learning about County operations. “Having a solid understanding of how things work will allow me to provide stronger support for the County as a whole,” she said.

Studioso holds dual degrees in education and mathematics from Houghton College, a master’s in curriculum and instruction from Indiana Wesleyan University, and professional certifications in healthcare compliance and ethics. She is also a member of the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.

A Geneseo resident, Studioso volunteers with the Livingston County Suicide Prevention Taskforce and enjoys outdoor activities with her husband and their dogs, Samwise and Pippin.
