A former inmate is facing felony charges after allegedly assaulting corrections officers at Auburn Correctional Facility, according to The Citizen.
Nashane A. Peterkin, 26, is accused of choking a sergeant, punching one officer, and biting another’s thumb during a July 2023 incident while being admitted to the facility’s medical unit. Two officers required hospital treatment, while others were checked onsite.
A grand jury indicted Peterkin on four counts of second-degree assault. He was processed by state police on June 13 and remains in state custody.
