Community members will have a chance to support neighbors in need this Saturday, as a local food drive takes place during a Democratic Party rally at Lafayette Park.
The event runs from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. on June 21 and will collect non-perishable food donations to benefit the Odessa Montour Food Pantry, which serves residents throughout Schuyler County.
The Odessa Montour Food Pantry is a ministry of Montour Falls Baptist Church. It is entirely volunteer-run, with operational support coming from the church and designated donations. Organizers emphasized that the pantry is open to anyone in need in the county.
Local residents are encouraged to bring shelf-stable items to help stock the pantry and support its ongoing mission. Every donation contributes to feeding families and individuals facing food insecurity in the community.
