Torrential rain pounded the Finger Lakes region Wednesday, but Canandaigua saw some of the worst effects.
More than three inches of rain fell, ranking the day among the top 10 wettest on record. In Canandaigua, streets, basements, and entire homes were overwhelmed.
Nearby, a couple had to be rescued from rising waters that surrounded their house.
As of Thursday morning most roads had reopened.
