New Yorkers now have a faster way to report issues with auto dealers and repair shops, thanks to a new online complaint form from the state Department of Motor Vehicles, according to the New York Connect Team.
The DMV says over 470 customers benefited last year from actions taken against regulated businesses, leading to nearly $1.5 million in refunds and repairs. The agency is also distributing updated signage and consumer protection guidelines as part of a statewide awareness push.
Drivers can now submit complaints directly online, receive confirmation by email, and print a copy for their records. The DMV urges customers to act quickly—especially for vehicle repair issues, which must be filed within 90 days or 3,000 miles.
