Televangelist Jimmy Swaggart, 90, is in critical condition following a cardiac arrest on June 15, according to USA TODAY. His son, Pastor Donnie Swaggart, told parishioners that the elder Swaggart was found unresponsive at home and later revived, but he remains unconscious in intensive care.
Swaggart, known for his decades-long ministry and national influence, is the pastor of Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge. His career was marked by scandal in the 1980s, notably a prostitution controversy that led to his defrocking.
Despite his condition, the family remains hopeful for a miracle. Swaggart’s ministry has not yet issued an official statement.
