Moravia man arrested after altercation on Main Street

A Moravia man was arrested earlier this month following a reported street altercation that prompted a response from Cayuga County deputies.

The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 66-year-old Steven Allwood on June 4 at approximately 9:59 p.m. Deputies were traveling along Main Street in the Village of Moravia when they were flagged down by a male subject.

An investigation determined that Allwood had been involved in an altercation with another man, during which he allegedly menaced the victim with his fists. Deputies took Allwood into custody at the scene.

Allwood was processed at the Public Safety Building and later turned over to the Cayuga County Jail after a full stay-away Order of Protection was granted. He is scheduled to appear in Moravia Court at a later date.
