Two adults in Bath were arrested after a 10-month-old baby crawled out a second-story window. A witness saw the child and climbed onto the roof to prevent a fall, while police said other children inside were also left unsupervised.
Joseph Bennett, 38, and Destiny Smith, 30, were charged with child endangerment and reckless endangerment. Officers also found two neglected dogs in the home and added charges for failing to provide sustenance.
Both suspects were taken to Steuben County Jail without bail and await a court appearance in Bath Village Court.
