Giancarlo Stanton will make his 2025 season debut Monday night when the Yankees open a series against the Los Angeles Angels, per SNY’s Andy Martino.
The veteran slugger has been sidelined since March with elbow injuries in both arms but recently completed a rehab stint with Double-A Somerset, where he went 3-for-11 with a double and four RBI.
Despite battling injuries for much of his time in New York, Stanton has remained a threat when healthy. Last season, he hit .233 with 27 home runs and 72 RBIs over 114 games. He followed that with a strong playoff showing, posting a .273 average and 1.048 OPS with seven homers en route to ALCS MVP honors.
Stanton will help a Yankees offense that ranks third in the Majors in batting average (.256), second in on-base percentage (.339), second in slugging percentage (.455), second in home runs (109), third in RBI (356), and first in walks (281).
