Longtime members of Blue Heron Hills Golf Club are reeling after learning the beloved course could be replaced by a housing development, according to the Times of Wayne County. The course, which opened in 1987 and once hosted legends like Jack Nicklaus, may soon be transformed into a residential project under new ownership.
Jason Calder, whose family owns the course, confirmed plans are in motion and said the decision lies with his father, William Calder, who holds the mortgage. A conceptual site plan was created earlier this year by Windward Lake Homes LLC, a company formed by the Calders.
Although the land is zoned to allow residential use, Jason Calder insisted “nothing is confirmed” when asked for further comment.
