Syracuse man arrested for false personation in Cayuga County

A Syracuse man was arrested during a traffic stop in the Town of Sempronius after deputies say he gave them a false name and date of birth.

Deputies with the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office arrested Dylan A. Hulslander, 27, on June 1 at around 2:10 p.m., charging him with false personation, a Class B misdemeanor under New York State law.

Deputies said they pulled over a vehicle for speeding in a 25 mph zone on North Glenn Haven Road. During the stop, a male passenger gave deputies false identifying information. However, deputies recognized him from previous arrests and interactions, later confirming his identity as Hulslander.

Further investigation revealed that Hulslander had multiple outstanding warrants from several police agencies across New York State. After his arrest, he was released with an appearance ticket to appear in Sempronius Town Court on June 18 at 6:00 p.m. He was then turned over to other law enforcement agencies.

Authorities are asking anyone with additional information to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office at 315-253-1222 or submit a tip online.
