Emergency crews responded to a serious four-wheeler crash in Cayuga County that resulted in at least two people injured and one airlifted by Mercy Flight, according to fire officials.
The incident occurred near Pinckney Road, where responders from Aurelius Rescue, Throop, and Auburn City Ambulance were dispatched following reports of a motor vehicle accident involving an ATV.
Cayuga/Seneca Fire Wire reported that Auburn assumed incident command on arrival. A medevac was requested and Mercy Flight was assigned to transport one of the patients. The landing zone was established at the New York State Police barracks.
Additional units assisted at the scene and at the landing zone. A second patient required transport, prompting Throop Ambulance to respond.
Mercy Flight landed with a three-minute ETA and later transported the injured patient. All units were reported clear and back in service within hours.
