A fast-moving house fire in the town of Goshen killed three people Saturday evening, including two children, according to New York State Police.
First responders were dispatched to 876 Pulaski Highway at approximately 8:11 p.m. on May 31. The residence was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived. Despite rescue efforts, 50-year-old Shane Munn was found deceased inside the home.
Two juvenile males, ages 12 and 17, were located inside the residence and transported to Garnett Health Medical Center in the Town of Wallkill. Both later died from their injuries, police said.
The cause of the fire is under active investigation by the SP Monroe Bureau of Criminal Investigation, along with the Orange County Fire Investigation Unit and the Hudson Valley Arson and Explosives Task Force.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including fire departments from Goshen, Florida, Pine Island, Warwick, Slate Hill, Chester, Johnson, and Unionville. Emergency services and support also came from the Orange County Fire Coordinators, Emergency Services, Medical Examiner’s Office, and the American Red Cross.
