A traffic stop in Ovid led to the arrest of a local man on charges of impaired driving and operating a vehicle without a valid license.
Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Colten Thompson, 25, of 6419 Cayuga Lake Road, on May 21 following a stop for speeding.
Deputies determined during the stop that Thompson was driving while his ability was impaired by alcohol. They also discovered that his license was suspended, leading to an additional charge of aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree.
Thompson was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center. He was released with appearance tickets.
The New York State Police assisted at the scene.
