Local shops in Ithaca could soon see a lift. According to Tompkins Weekly, the Downtown Ithaca Alliance has relaunched its Retail Mini-Grant Program, offering up to $10,000 to small businesses for marketing, storefront upgrades, and collaboration campaigns.
Backed by federal ARPA funds, the grants aim to revitalize independent retailers still struggling from COVID-19’s impact. Eligible businesses must have fewer than 500 employees and have operated in Ithaca since before March 2021. All recipients must provide a 10% cash match.
Applications are open until June 16, with decisions announced by July 1. City leaders hope the program will boost foot traffic and reinforce Ithaca’s unique shopping districts.
