Watkins Glen roared to life this weekend as more than 100 Corvettes rolled into town for the annual “Corvette Thunder in the Glen” festival. Car lovers packed Franklin Street on Sunday to admire the lineup, which featured classics like a 1967 Chevy convertible.
The two-day event began with a Saturday car exhibit in Clute Park. Organizers say the celebration honors the Corvette’s 72-year legacy, tracing its roots back to a 1953 debut inspired by races in Watkins Glen.
Drivers capped off the weekend with laps around both the original road course and Watkins Glen International. With this year’s event selling out fast, organizers say they plan to expand it for 2026.
