A 37-year-old man was arrested early Thursday morning at FF Thompson Hospital after allegedly threatening violence and injuring a sheriff’s deputy during a physical altercation.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 3:00 a.m. on May 15 after Robert M. Bergman began threatening hospital staff and law enforcement officers at the scene.
Deputies attempted to place Bergman under arrest, but he physically resisted. During the struggle, he caused damage to hospital equipment and injured a deputy. Authorities charged him with assault in the second degree and obstructing governmental administration.
Bergman was transported to the Ontario County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua City Court at a later date.
