Construction is underway on Steuben County’s first Jersey Mike’s Subs, set to open in Riverside’s Tops Plaza by early summer, according to the Corning Leader.
The sandwich chain will share a building with Starbucks at the former Friendly’s site. Village officials, including Mayor Teresa Havens, say the new eatery could open by late June and will boost local traffic and business visibility.
Trustee Rich Wagar noted that the location, visible from Interstate 86, could help draw more visitors. Originally slated for a WellNow Urgent Care, part of the site will instead be occupied by T-Mobile. The closest Jersey Mike’s currently operates in Horseheads.
