Newfield taps Jesse Harper as new superintendent

The Newfield Central School District has named Jesse Harper its next superintendent, effective July 1. He will succeed Eric Hartz, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Harper brings more than 20 years of experience, including a previous role as superintendent of Arkport CSD, where he led equity initiatives, capital projects, and academic expansion. He holds multiple certifications and degrees from SUNY Brockport and Alfred University.

District officials praised Harper’s leadership style and focus on student-centered learning. The appointment follows a community-driven search process led by Tompkins-Seneca-Tioga BOCES.
