Target recalls baby food over lead concerns

Parents are being urged to inspect their baby food after Target recalled over 25,000 units of Good & Gather vegetable puree due to elevated lead levels, according to the FDA. Though classified as a Class II recall, prolonged lead exposure can cause serious developmental issues in young children.

The affected 4-ounce pouches, intended for babies six months and older, have lot numbers 4169 and 4167 with best-by dates of December 2025. Consumers should return the products to Target stores for a full refund and consult a doctor if exposure is suspected.

The recalled puree was sold nationwide, and updates are available through the FDA and Target customer service.
