During an April 29 episode of Inside Government hosted by Guy Cosentino, Auburn Enlarged City School District leaders discussed the upcoming May 20 vote, where residents will decide on a proposed $107 million budget and a $7.2 million bond resolution. The proposed budget included a 3.25% tax levy increase, staying below the 3.78% state-mandated cap. With the New York State budget finalized nearly a month late, it remained unclear how much state aid individual districts, including Auburn, would receive, despite overall education spending rising by $2 billion to $254 billion. Superintendent Dr. Misty Slavic and Business Manager Tessa Crawford joined Cosentino to provide updates on the district’s financial outlook and potential impacts from additional state funding.
