Deputies arrested a Victor man after allegedly finding a loaded illegal weapon in his home during a joint investigation with state police.
Elijah A. Bonvell, 43, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night.
The investigation began in March after an incident at Bonvell’s Wildwood Lane residence led the New York State Police to remove firearms from the home under an Extreme Risk Protection Order. Days later, deputies returned and allegedly discovered a loaded semi-automatic 9mm “ghost gun” lacking a mark, model, or serial number.
The firearm also exceeded New York’s ten-round limit for ammunition capacity.
During the search, law enforcement found several other illegal weapons inside the residence, including metal knuckles, a metal knuckle knife, and an expandable police baton.
Bonvell later turned himself in at the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office. He was held at the Ontario County Jail, pending arraignment. Authorities said additional charges are pending.
