Family seeks justice for Adam Lafferty’s Five Points death

Over 150 people gathered at the Rose Union Community Building to remember Adam Lafferty, who was killed in December while serving time at Five Points Correctional Facility.

The Finger Lakes Times reports that homicide has been listed as preliminary cause of death, but no charges have been filed.

Lafferty had warned of threats against him, even predicting the date of his death in letters to a federal judge. He alleged mistreatment and feared retaliation for filing grievances.

His family questions why he was placed with a convicted murderer in a maximum-security prison despite serving time for a non-violent offense.
