Connecticut man charged with DWI after traffic stop in Farmington

A Connecticut man was arrested for driving while intoxicated early Tuesday morning after Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies stopped his vehicle on State Route 96.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a 2024 Volkswagen Jetta at approximately 12:17 a.m. on March 11 in the Town of Farmington. The vehicle had been unlawfully parked on the roadway, prompting the investigation.

Authorities determined that the driver, 70-year-old Michael Callahan of South Greenwich, Connecticut, was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. He was issued uniform traffic tickets and released.

Callahan is scheduled to appear in Farmington Town Court at a later date to answer the charge.
