A joint meeting of Yates County’s Finance and Ad-Hoc Transportation committees resulted in unanimous support for selecting Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority’s Regional Transit Service as the county’s public transportation provider.
The decision follows a postponed vote in February, when legislators opted to delay until a private memo on the matter was made public. Released Tuesday, the memo highlighted RTS’s strong service quality and its Dial-A-Ride program as a major benefit for the community.
With committee approval secured, the full Legislature is expected to finalize the decision at its Monday meeting, officially bringing RTS to Yates County.
