The Seneca Falls Town Board will decide tonight whether to extend a local operating permit for Seneca Meadows Landfill and approve a new host community agreement. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the Seneca Falls Community Center.
While the landfill operates under a state permit expiring in 2026, Seneca Meadows is seeking approval from the DEC to continue operations through 2040. The state’s decision has faced multiple delays.
As New York’s largest landfill, handling up to 6,000 tons of waste daily, its future remains a key issue for the community. Residents are encouraged to attend and voice their opinions.
