A Waterloo man was arrested Wednesday after police determined he had violated an active order of protection by contacting a woman on social media.
Luis Hernandez, 49, was charged with second-degree criminal contempt following an investigation by the Canandaigua Police Department. Authorities say the incident occurred on January 21 at a Buffalo Street address, where Hernandez allegedly reached out to the protected individual via Facebook, violating a stay-away order.
Police arrested Hernandez at the City of Canandaigua Court, where he was appearing for an unrelated case. Following his arrest, he was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
