The Victor Blue Devils secured the Class B sectional hockey title Monday night with a 6-3 victory over defending champion Batavia Notre Dame United at the Gene Polisseni Center on RIT’s campus.
Top-seeded Victor (17-5-1) claimed its second sectional title in three seasons after falling in overtime in last year’s championship game.
Simon Kowal led the Blue Devils with a hat trick, netting all three of his goals in the second period. Nate Romeis and Caleb Clark also added goals in the win.
Batavia Notre Dame’s offense was powered by Jameson Motyka, who scored twice, while Chase Cummings added another goal for the second-seeded squad.
Victor will face Section VI’s Williamsville East in regionals on Saturday at the Harborcenter in Buffalo.
