Authorities are investigating the death of an inmate at Mid-State Correctional Facility after they were transported to a hospital Saturday morning and pronounced dead.
The New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision (DOCCS) has not released the inmate’s name, pending family notification. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
Mid-State has faced scrutiny before, with past allegations of inmate mistreatment. The facility is near Marcy Correctional, where excessive force led to the death of Robert Brooks.
