Hourihan announces candidacy for Schuyler County District Attorney

Jeremy Hourihan, Schuyler County’s Chief Assistant District Attorney, has announced his candidacy for Schuyler County District Attorney in the upcoming November election. Hourihan made the announcement on February 26 at the Seneca Lake Events Center, where he was joined by more than 70 supporters.

Current District Attorney Joseph Fazzary, who plans to retire at the end of his term on December 31, introduced Hourihan at the event and endorsed him as the best candidate to succeed him.

Hourihan has served as Chief Assistant District Attorney since 2020. Before that, he worked as a civil litigator in private practice and as an Assistant District Attorney in Chemung County. With over a decade of prosecutorial experience and extensive trial expertise, he is positioning himself as a seasoned candidate for the role.

Beyond his legal career, Hourihan is deeply involved in the Schuyler County community. He serves on the Board of Directors for the FLX Gateway Community Development Corporation, is a member of the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club, and participates in the Schuyler County Coalition on Underage Drinking and Drugs.

The general election for Schuyler County District Attorney will take place in November.
