Tompkins County seeks volunteers for ethics board

The Tompkins County Legislature is accepting applications for two openings on the Tompkins County Ethics Advisory Board (TCEAB), a volunteer panel that promotes ethical conduct in local government. The positions come with a four-year term and are open to county residents who are not elected or appointed officials.

The TCEAB, established in 1997 under New York’s General Municipal Law, provides advisory opinions on ethical matters in county governance. Legislator Rich John, the board’s chair, encourages participation to uphold ethical standards.

Interested applicants must complete an Advisory Board Application, available online or at the County Legislature office in Ithaca. Women, minorities, veterans, and individuals with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. For more information, call (607) 274-5434.
