An Alton woman has been arrested following an investigation into a two-car crash that left one person seriously injured, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies arrested Sarah Tuper, 33, of Shaker Road, in connection with a June 2024 crash in the Town of Rose. Authorities say Tuper was driving southbound on Covell Road when she failed to yield at the intersection with Wayne Center Rose Road, colliding with a westbound vehicle. One occupant of the struck vehicle sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Strong Hospital by Mercy Flight.
The investigation determined that Tuper was operating her vehicle while impaired by marijuana. She has been charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Failure to Yield the Right of Way at a Stop Sign.
Tuper is scheduled to appear in Rose Town Court for arraignment on March 3 at 5:30 p.m.
