The Trump administration is seeking public input on its newly proposed Artificial Intelligence (AI) Action Plan, which aims to strengthen America’s leadership in AI innovation while preventing excessive regulations that could stifle private sector growth.
The call for comments follows President Donald Trump’s recent AI Executive Order, which set the foundation for a national strategy to maintain U.S. dominance in artificial intelligence. The Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP) released a Request for Information (RFI) on Tuesday, inviting feedback from individuals, businesses, academic institutions, and government entities on key actions to be included in the plan.
“The Trump Administration is committed to ensuring the United States is the undeniable leader in AI technology,” said Lynne Parker, Principal Deputy Director of OSTP. “This AI Action Plan is the first step in securing and advancing American AI dominance, and we look forward to incorporating the public’s comments and innovative ideas.”
The administration emphasizes that AI leadership is essential for economic competitiveness, national security, and technological advancement. The AI Action Plan will focus on fostering innovation while avoiding regulatory burdens that could slow development in the field.
The public has until March 15, 2025, to submit comments online. Those interested can access the RFI and submit their feedback through the Federal Register at federalregister.gov.
