A Canisteo family lost their home in a Feb. 19 fire, leaving their oldest child, Cole, with severe burns requiring a long recovery. Authorities believe the blaze was accidental but are still investigating.
A GoFundMe campaign organized by Brittany Pfitzenmaier has raised over $10,500 of its $13,000 goal to support Lisa and Ben Stage and their four children. The funds will help with necessities like clothing and food.
Firefighters from multiple departments battled the blaze in freezing conditions for hours, but the home was declared a total loss. The Red Cross is also assisting the family.
